Extentech is a leading developer of innovative spreadsheet development tools and platforms including ExtenXLS™ Java Spreadsheet SDK , Sheetster Spreadsheet Server, and the upcoming DocsFree Office Suite.

Extentech History
Extentech is a San Francisco, California C-Corporation founded in 1999 by software entrepreneur John McMahon.

After receiving a degree in English and Creative Writing, John founded the networking startup Efficient Computing in 1991 where he worked in every role from sales to web development and design.

In 1998, John founded his next startup, Extentech as a web-consulting firm helping businesses transition to the internet and establish an online presence. In 1999 John incorporated Extentech Inc. and brought on Nick Rab as a co-founder.

In 2001, Extentech began consulting and Enterprise Java development with web and spreadsheet-based applications for the financial services industry.

In 2002, The ExtenXLS Java Spreadsheet SDK was developed to provide spreadsheet export capability for a customer project. Extentech began developing ExtenXLS in earnest and within a few years had established Extentech as a preferred vendor for Java-based Spreadsheet functionality among dozens of Global 2000 companies.

In 2006 Extentech released Sheetster.com -- an online spreadsheet built on the ExtenXLS engine. In 2007, Sheetster Server was released -- the first and only open source spreadsheet application server developed from the ground up as a developer platform. Today, Sheetster Server Pro is embedded in many web applications and continues to lead the market in online spreadsheet functionality and choice.

After more than 10 years, our customers now include major financial institutions and Global 2000 companies worldwide such as JPMorgan/Chase, Hewlett Packard, the Nielsen Company, IBM, Toyota, and many others.
